Spring is here!

Well the snow is finally leaving. It has been above freezing for several days now. It has been raining and washing the dirty brown snow away! We have one more week of school and then we will be on Spring/Easter break. The baby bed finally came in and Kelly spent Thursday afternoon putting it together. I have such a sweet husband!!!

Kaziukas

This weekend there is a holiday celebrated in Vilnius called Kaziukas. It is a holiday that has been celebrated in the Old Town since the 1800's. Vendors come together to sell handmade items throughout the Old Town, where we live. This year is the biggest Vilnius has held, with vendors covering 8km (5 miles). Of course we did not walk the entire 5 miles, but we spent about 3 hours on Friday afternoon freezing our tooshies off walking around with our students. They sell everything from dried flowers, to wooden hand painted eggs. I bought a pair of hand knit socks for our little one on the way. They were selling bagels on a string that you wear around your neck; a snack on the go. You can even ride around city hall in a giant basket for only 5 Lita ($2).
The weather here was warming up until this past week. We almost had all of the snow melted off, until the cold came back and it snowed every day this week. Luckily the week to come has no snow in the forecast and above freezing temps! Hopefully it will stay that way! But who knows, there might still be snow on the ground when my mom arrives in May.
We had a doctors appointment last week and the baby is doing well. Still growing and getting bigger! We have about 6 weeks left and are getting more anxious and excited every day. Although we don't know if we are having a boy or a girl, Kelly and I both have a feeling that we are having a little boy. Of course we are blessed no matter boy or girl, but I am getting excited at the fact of seeing a little Kelly. Hopefully little Norman will not be born with a red beard! On the other hand, I would also be so excited to see Kelly with a little girl! He is going to be such a good dad and I can not WAIT to see him holding our sweet little one!
